Mini Laptops | Creating Lightweight Compact Portable Computing

Mini laptops are the craze of the moment. When Asus launched its Eee PC low cost ultra portable notebook, most other manufactures thought they were crazy. However, after just a couple of months, they realized it was indeed a great idea, and today, nearly every manufacturer has - or is about to have – a similar low cost mini laptop.

So, from no choice at all, you now have to consider Asus Eee PC, MSI Wind, HP Mini note, and similar offers from a number of other manufacturers. Although these sub notebooks aren’t meant to replace a regular laptop or desktop computer, they do make for amazing little machines suitable for computing on the go, or to serve as a first mini laptop for children. For instance, the Eee PC comes with a simplified Linux distribution with integrated educational programs that are sure to keep your kids entertained for quite some time – and you can easily get more similar programs on the internet.

Being a big fan of these mini laptops, I’m not sure what I can tell you more about it. With more and more of these laptops coming out, the hardest part is deciding which one you love the most. Asus Eee PC is really tiny and can be carried around easily, HP Mini looks absolutely amazing, and MSI’s Wind has great specs – though the newer Eee PCs have also revised hardware than makes most of these comparisons… futile. So, whatever sub laptop you choose, you’ll be in good hands.
